About this print

  • Reads BANDERA and TEXAS in bold rust letters
  • Cowboy on horseback under a burnt orange sun
  • Mustard, sage, and forest green on cream
  • Part of the Westward Wonder travel poster series

Bandera is a vintage Texas travel poster for a town that calls itself the Cowboy Capital of the World. A rider in a hat and red bandana lopes across golden hill country on a dark green horse. A burnt orange sun hangs over flat-topped hills and scrub. BANDERA runs across the top, TEXAS across the bottom.

The palette is mustard, sage, forest green, and rust on cream. Bold and flat, easy to read from across a room. It carries trail rides, dance halls, and rodeo pride without a word of fuss.

It looks right above an entry table with a hat and boots, in a guest room, or in a bar. Pair it with other Westward Wonder posters for a travel wall. Go 24x36 as a centerpiece or 12x18 in a set. Choose a matte print, or have it framed by hand in Phoenix in black, white, walnut, or natural wood, with or without a white mat.

Where it looks best

  • entryway over a console table
  • guest room
  • bar or game room
  • travel poster gallery wall

A good gift for Texans, Hill Country regulars, and anyone who has ridden in Bandera.

Questions about Bandera

Why is Bandera called the Cowboy Capital of the World?

Bandera, Texas, is known for its dude ranches, trail riding, and rodeo tradition, and the town proudly carries the Cowboy Capital of the World name.

Which frame looks best on this poster?

Black, shown here, makes the rust lettering pop. Walnut or natural wood warms it up for a ranch house or cabin.

Good to know

What is the difference between Print and Framed Print?

Print ships as the artwork alone on heavyweight matte stock. Framed Print arrives in your choice of black, white, walnut, or natural wood frames, ready to hang.

How long until my order ships?

Every Frontier Prints piece is made to order. Prints ship in 3 to 5 business days, framed pieces in 5 to 7.

Will the colors match my screen?

Screens differ, so expect slight shifts in color. Wood grain on walnut frames is unique to each piece.

Do framed prints have glass?

No. Framed pieces have an acrylic or styrene front, never glass. It is lighter than glass and much less likely to shatter, so it is safer to ship and to hang.

Are prints signed or numbered?

No. Prints are open edition and are not signed or numbered.
