Western Wall Art for the Living Room
The living room wall above your sofa is the biggest one in the house. Here is how to pick a size, a frame and a print that holds it.

What size western wall art for a living room?
Measure your sofa first. We tell customers to cover about two thirds of the sofa width. On a standard three seat sofa that is one piece at 24x36, or a pair at 18x24. Hang the center of the art 57 to 60 inches off the floor, and leave six to ten inches of wall between the frame and the sofa back. With an 8 foot ceiling, go wide rather than tall. Our size and frame guide and our 8 foot ceiling notes have the rest.
Frame color is free, so pick it off the room instead of the print. Black sharpens a graphic poster. Walnut and natural wood sit well with leather. The slim white mat adds $20 and some breathing room.

Western wall art ideas that work over a sofa
Three directions work in a living room. Warm and cinematic: Long Way Home under a fiery sunset, or Rain Check in deep blue and slate. Graphic and vintage: Admit One, a rodeo ticket in burnt orange and navy, and Dodge City, a retro Kansas travel poster. Quiet and modern: Ride of the West, a few ink strokes on parchment. For a wide wall, Welcome to the West is horizontal.

Questions and answers
Where should I hang western wall art in a living room?
Over the sofa is the easiest win. Center the piece on the sofa, put the middle of the art 57 to 60 inches off the floor, and keep six to ten inches of wall between the frame and the sofa back. Over a fireplace or by a leather chair also works.
What does a large framed western print cost?
At 24x36, framed is $350, or $370 with the slim white mat. The same size unframed is $90. Free shipping applies to print only orders of $100 or more; orders with a framed piece pay postage quoted at checkout from your ZIP code.
Do the framed pieces have glass?
No. The front is acrylic or styrene, never glass. Framed pieces ship flat in a protective box and arrive ready to hang, which is a relief on a big piece above the couch.
