About this print

  • Abandoned gas pump with peeling paint and slack hose
  • Moody black and white photographic style
  • Desert brush and distant mountains under a streaked sky
  • Strong over a mantel or in a garage bar

Fuel for Ghosts is vintage gas pump art from a road nobody drives anymore. An old pump stands alone in the brush, its paint peeling in pale patches, its hose hanging slack. The blank sign on top faces a sky full of long, dark streaks, and low mountains sit on the horizon.

It is rendered in a moody black and white photographic style, rich in texture: rust, grit, dry grass. Once this was a place of motion and need. Now only stillness remains, a memory anchored in steel. Part of the Dust & Shadow collection, which honors the forgotten objects of the West.

Hang it over a fireplace mantel, in a garage bar, or in a dark, quiet office. It suits deep wood, leather, and warm neutrals. Choose a matte print, or have it framed by hand in Phoenix in black, white, walnut, or natural wood, with or without a white mat.

Over a fireplace mantel or a leather sofa at 24x36 or 20x30. The dark tones also hold their own in a garage bar or a moody office.

What frame color should I choose?

Black with a white mat, as shown, keeps it crisp and gallery-like. Walnut adds warmth in a room with leather and dark wood.

Good to know

What is the difference between Print and Framed Print?

Print ships as the artwork alone on heavyweight matte stock. Framed Print arrives in your choice of black, white, walnut, or natural wood frames, ready to hang.

How long until my order ships?

Every Frontier Prints piece is made to order. Prints ship in 3 to 5 business days, framed pieces in 5 to 7.

Will the colors match my screen?

Screens differ, so expect slight shifts in color. Wood grain on walnut frames is unique to each piece.

Do framed prints have glass?

No. Framed pieces have an acrylic or styrene front, never glass. It is lighter than glass and much less likely to shatter, so it is safer to ship and to hang.

Are prints signed or numbered?

No. Prints are open edition and are not signed or numbered.
