About this print
- Frontal Texas longhorn portrait, horns nearly edge to edge
- Heavy palette-knife texture with copper and gold flecks
- Slate blue, ochre, cream and sienna palette
- Part of the Americana collection
Longhorn Portrait is longhorn wall art painted in thick palette-knife strokes. The steer faces you head-on, horns reaching almost edge to edge, his face and shoulders built from bold blocks of cream, ochre, burnt sienna and warm white with rust outlines. The slate-blue wall behind him is scattered with copper and gold flecks, and an abstract band of ochre ground runs along the bottom.
It belongs to our Americana collection, where the West is in paint instead of photos. The palette is slate blue, ochre, cream and rust, the same family as Rodeo Queen's Pause, so the two hang well together.
It is a strong single piece for a study, a bar or a living room, and the frontal pose holds a wall on its own. Choose a matte print, or have it framed by hand in Phoenix in black, white, walnut or natural wood, with or without a white mat.

Questions about Longhorn Portrait
How big should I go?
Longhorn Portrait is built for size. A 24x36 over a sofa or desk lets the horns read at full width, and 18x24 works for a smaller wall.
Which frame color?
Black is the classic choice and frames the blue ground cleanly. Walnut warms the ochre and sienna for a den or study.
Good to know
What is the difference between Print and Framed Print?
Print ships as the artwork alone on heavyweight matte stock. Framed Print arrives in your choice of black, white, walnut, or natural wood frames, ready to hang.
How long until my order ships?
Every Frontier Prints piece is made to order. Prints ship in 3 to 5 business days, framed pieces in 5 to 7.
Will the colors match my screen?
Screens differ, so expect slight shifts in color. Wood grain on walnut frames is unique to each piece.
Do framed prints have glass?
No. Framed pieces have an acrylic or styrene front, never glass. It is lighter than glass and much less likely to shatter, so it is safer to ship and to hang.
Are prints signed or numbered?
No. Prints are open edition and are not signed or numbered.
