About this print

  • Covered wagons and two outriders crossing the plain
  • Loose folk-modern lines on a chalk-white impasto ground
  • Chalk white, rust brown and black palette
  • Landscape companion to Three Riders at Noon

Wagon Train is pioneer wall art in a folk-modern style. A line of covered wagons rolls from left to right behind simplified horses, with two outriders in wide hats keeping pace. Everything is drawn in loose rust-brown and black lines on a thick chalk-white ground, with pale canvas-colored wagon tops and a low band of rust and black along the horizon.

It belongs to our Americana collection and is the landscape companion to Three Riders at Noon, painted in the same chalk-white style. The palette is chalk white, warm grey, rust brown, black and a touch of ochre.

The wide format suits a dining room sideboard, a long hallway or the space over a sofa. Choose a matte print, or have it framed by hand in Phoenix in black, white, walnut or natural wood, with or without a white mat.

Where it looks best

  • dining room
  • above a sideboard
  • hallway
  • over a sofa

A good gift for history buffs, Oregon Trail kids and families with pioneer roots.

Good to know

What is the difference between Print and Framed Print?

Print ships as the artwork alone on heavyweight matte stock. Framed Print arrives in your choice of black, white, walnut, or natural wood frames, ready to hang.

How long until my order ships?

Every Frontier Prints piece is made to order. Prints ship in 3 to 5 business days, framed pieces in 5 to 7.

Will the colors match my screen?

Screens differ, so expect slight shifts in color. Wood grain on walnut frames is unique to each piece.

Do framed prints have glass?

No. Framed pieces have an acrylic or styrene front, never glass. It is lighter than glass and much less likely to shatter, so it is safer to ship and to hang.

Are prints signed or numbered?
